Can any Witness possibly anwser this question?

hello all... i came across this line of questioning many months on the inet so i decided that i would submit just this once to peer pressure and make a usefull contribution to the board.. here is the question... is jesus just "a god?".

many of the regular inet surfers would have come across this line of questioning before so if you have you could just sit back and relax and read the replys.. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>.

They Came Back!

i just thought that i'd inform the board that they decided to come back after all.. right now i have to do something so i'll fill in the details later tonight.. the guy dident come back though.

it was only the lady and her daughter.. let me tell you, it was absolutely pointless.

except for one thing.. they were surprised about the un thing, but other than that nothing mattered.

Jerome, I totally appreciate what you are trying to do. I agree with you 110%.

My JW mother-in-law had not the slightest idea about the UN thing. Unfortunately I knew about it, but did not know the specifics about it. The day after I told her about it(yes she was shocked)she came back with some sort of response of "They were part of the DPI, which only means they were signed up for information. They were never part of the UN. This way the WT can easily help more people get information, and when it became a big deal, they dropped it."
Thats not word for word, but close. That conversation happened 2 months ago.

All I am saying, IS TO KNOW YOUR TOPIC of choice before you indulge. Yes, they study, study, study and still have the "cheat sheets" with them. They are WT soldiers, armed with word spewing guns. Its very diffiCULT towin an argument.

for the record i have emailed tallyman apologising for anything personal i might have done to upset him.

i have no interest in furthering a war with him - and his website is very valuable in its message.. although one of his locked threads stepped on my toes rather heavily i do think the subject is an important one: the residual effects of coming out of a cult.

i think you had a valid point to make, tally - and i hope you make it again (perhaps without trying to make another individual feel bad).

I don't know you and haven't read much of your posts. Tallyman to me is a crackup. I like the material he finds and appreciate his dedication. That guy makes me laugh(seriously).

The New Pledge of Allegiance.

an email i received today.... since the pledge of allegiance and the lord's prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore because the word "god" is mentioned..... a kid in arizona wrote the attached.

And YES, my HS banned many shirts. Not just Godly shirts, but Satan shirts as well, even some political shirts. I graduated in 1990. They even concidered going to a school uniform because of the freaks we had at school.

OK, since I have to SPELL everything out, here it is.

By "Force" a birth, I meant...

First, Who USUALLY gets pregnant in HS? USUALLY it is the girl that has a low self esteem, comes from a poor background, has an abusive father or the father has left the family, is a slut or whatever, you get my point.

Second, not in all cases, but who would be prone to wearing a shirt that says "ABORTION IS MURDER"? I would think a popular student or a student that is a leader and/or has strong leadership skills, NOT ALWAYS BUT USUALLY.

Now, if thats the case and a girl gets pregnant in school, don't you think that some PEER PRESSURE would have an effect on what this girl decides to do? Do you think that she would want to be known as a slut and a MURDERER? Me thinks not. This would help "force" her into that decision.

Notice I put "force" in quotes.

We had a "coincidence" this Sunday morning.

First, before I was awake, we had some JW's knockin' at the door. My wife answered the door and these witnesses said they were sent to our home for a requested Bible study. They were looking for Zena Young. I have no idea who Zena Young is. My wife told them they had the wrong address and sent them on their way.

Second, an hour later, before my wife told me about this, I received a phone call. This lady asked for Zena Young. She had said that Zena had requested a bible study this morning. I asked what religion, she says Jehovahs Witnesses, and my heart starts racing. Mind you, I still don't know they showed up earlier at my home. She asks "Is your phone number 333-****?", I say "YES", she says "well for how long?", I say "for two years", she says,"maybe it was her number before you, but we had a request to have a bible study with her.", me "OK, well, she's not here, so bye".

So, what are the chances that the person that lived here before I did had the same phone number that I have. IMPOSSIBLE, the phone number prefix "333" just came out in my area right before I moved into my home. I know, thru wrong mail being sent to me, that the person that lived here before me is not Zena.

I have a good idea which JW is playing tricks, trying to get witnesses here to tell us the "Truth", and I don't like it. It tells me that they have to resort to trickery to get their witnessisng in. Funny thing is, I would have loved to talk to these people this morning. I am armed with the troof about the truth. Peace.

How much of our brain do we use?

we use 100%.. now i've heared this being discussed a few times here before,.

My words about the 10% thing was not meant to be a factual statement. I have no idea what percentage of our brains we use. How can someone gage such a thing? What would you compare it to?

Why are some people smarter than others? Is it because they are using more of their "Brain Potential"? AND YES, there have been many cases where a bullet damages the brain and the person lives. I saw this one documentary where this kid, for whatever reason, had a huge dent in his head and there was no brain matter in that area. Through cosmetic surgery, the docs fixed him up. He had every function available to him, although he did look like hell.

If we are using 100% of our brain, wouldn't that mean that no more information can be stuffed in it?

What about memory? Thats part of the brain. Do we retain everything? Why do some people have a photographic memory and others do not?

I think most people are far from using 100% of thier brain. Maybe they use all of the tissue, but not all the potential.

So for someone to say that we use 100% of our brain, they are wrong, as is the person who says we use 10%, even though that was me. I think it varies from person to person.

Scientists and doctors don't even know how the brain works, much less know what percentage of it we use. They guestimate. Obviously neurons connecting has a large part in it, but what makes us think?

Hey 4christ.

I think the reason for that is because it directly applies to other students in school. I think it is bogus to not allow that shirt, but at the same time allow "Freak" shirts, like M. Manson.

At first I thought maybe they removed it beacause it makes a political statement. Then I thought, nah, you could probably wear a shirt that said "F*** the President" or something similiar.

So, like I said, there are pregnant girls in HS and a shirt like that may "force" a birth. Especially if the person wearing the shirt is a popular student.
